Spectrum 520/550 School Intercom System

Spectrum 520/550, designed to meet the communication and security needs of K12 facilities, provides comprehensive communication and management for education environments.

 

The Spectrum 520 utilizes a wall-mounted modular architecture that accommodates up to 336 stations (master stations, accessory stations, and speaker call-in stations) in increments of eight. The Spectrum 550 utilizes a rack-mounted, space-saving architecture that accommodates up to 672 stations. Spectrum 520/550 supports a full range of school communications functions including classroom-to-administration intercom, class change and warning tone signals, and multi-zone paging and program distribution. Systems can easily be networked using traditional copper lines or with fiber optic transceivers to allow the Spectrum 520/550 to adapt to any campus-environment. By combining digital networking technologies with user-friendly master and call-in stations, Spectrum 520/550 delivers a complete communication system that meets the safety and security needs of today's K12 facilities.

Seamless Integration
Spectrum 520/550 seamlessly integrates to Caller ID-compatible PBX or EKSU systems, allowing any telephone to function as an administrative master station with full-LCD display support. Spectrum delivers duplex, non-blocking voice communication with instant connectivity and clear, crisp sound quality to provide an effective and comprehensive school intercom system.

Call-in Intercom

  • Classrooms can place either routine or emergency calls to office
    (multiple call levels available)
  • Place two different call types using a single button
  • Single or multiple call destinations
    (example: routine to secretary, emergency to principal and security)
  • Hands-free, amplified, two-way voice communication from anywhere in the classroom
  • Clear, crisp teacher-to-office communication
  • Calls are sorted by priority and displayed on an LCD display and may be answered in any order
  • Calls placed to the master station display a programmable name or location
  • Programmable call text
  • Simultaneous intercom, paging, and program distribution with multiple audio channels
  • Call-assurance tones at call-in stations and call-placed tones at master stations

Paging

  • Page from any phone, control console, or microphone
  • Page to all room speakers, groups of rooms, or a single room
  • Single-touch, emergency page to all rooms from consoles or desktop microphones
  • Page to Public Address page zones
  • Page to preprogrammed groups or create your own custom group

Safety Tones and Messaging

  • Single-touch Emergency Warning Tone button sounds on all speakers in the facility
  • Single-touch Emergency Page button for instant voice messaging throughout the facility

Master Clock

  • Imbedded master clock provides programmable class change signaling for eight times schedules and 1024 events
  • Provides secondary clock correction
    (using the Cat. 5278 Secondary Clock Interface)
  • Remote schedule updates possible via modem connection

Scheduling Tones

  • Send class-change tones on a room/group-selectable basis
  • Choose from a menu of different tone types

Programming Distribution

  • Select and distribute up to four simultaneous program sources such as CD, tape, and AM/FM tuner
  • Digital display aids the setup of source selection
  • Initiate distribution from any control console
